Ere Perez is an amazing clean and non-toxic skincare and make-up brand that is Australia based. The brand is French but most things are made in Australia, like this face nectar. The products are so easy to find in the UK as are available on many websites; my favourites being Content Beauty and Wellbeing and Naturisimo. I love how simple yet effective the products are and this one is no different. I bought this product because I was wanting to try a different serum to the Quandong Green Booster Serum also by Ere Perez. What I discovered is though they are both categorises as “serums” they work better as a duo. That’s because the Quandong serum is water based and this Face Nectar is more oily. I apply the water based serum first to soak further into the skin then the oily product second to lock in moisture during the day or at night.
As mentioned above, the texture of this product is quite oily. It is a very lightweight oil that soaks into the skin and doesn’t leave a lot of product residue just the moisture barrier. It is a nice product to apply make-up over because the make-up won’t move but the skin stays moisturised letting the glowiness from the product shine through. If you prefer a matte day look, use this product at night time instead. The ingredients list, below, shows that this product contains very lightweight oils similar to the ones the skin naturally produces like jojoba oil. This means the product isn’t clogging to the pores and as someone with acne prone skin I can say, for me anyway, this product is safe to use and won’t cause breakouts. Especially because it contains frankincense which is great for the skin health. However, if you have a sensitivity to essential oils of vitamin E then do not try this product. I know we all have different sensitivities and triggers so always check the ingredients lists.
The scent of this product is very woodsy from the cedarwood an frankincense which are scents that I love. It is definitely subtle in scent and very gender neutral. On the skin this product feels like a priming oil that moves so smoothly and easily across the skin and soaks in nicely. It doesn’t feel like a heavy oil or anything and as mentioned is nice to apply make-up over the top of.
I have very dehydrated skin and when using this product without a water based serum or hydrating mist underneath my skin still feels tight and dehydrated. For that reason, I know this isn’t a hydrating product that soaks deep into the skin layers to hydrate the skin. Instead, it is moisturising and creates a nice barrier on the skin that can help against pollution etc. I love this on top of a serum but unless you have naturally hydrated skin, I would say use a serum first. But overall, I really like this product.
