If you haven’t yet heard about Dr Bronner’s Castile Soap, then you’re missing out. This was the first natural product I kept hearing about when I switched to naturals. It’s so versatile with what it can be used for, and my first post about this product was in January 2017 which you can read here. I have 3 main things that I use this product for, which I will speak about below. Other uses go from facial wash, vegetable wash, to pet wash, to washing detergent and home cleaning recipes. The possibilities are almost endless.
How I Use It
1. Body Wash
I always have this product on hand for a body wash; even thought I’m always trying and testing new products. I have a smaller one which I travel with too as it’s so light, easy to carry, and versatile. I love this lavender scent, but I also love the Rose and the Unscented.
2. Menstrual Cup Cleaner
I use this as a menstrual cup cleaner between changes during my cycles, and in-between sanitising it by boiling it in a pan. I prefer to use the baby unscented scent when using it for such a sensitive area. This is such a great natural cleaner with very clean ingredients, so you don’t have to worry about a negative reaction from harsh chemicals inside your vagina.
3. Make-up Brush Cleaner
My skin is very acne prone so I wash my brushes after almost every use. This product is so natural that I know it won’t irritate my skin. It also foams easily which makes my brushes very easy to clean with it when they aren’t very dirty. It’s also easy to wash out, and doesn’t leave a strong scent. I love it for this. Again, I like the unscented one for this. This is the best make-up brush cleaner that I have used.
This product comes in a variety of different scent, including: Lavender, Citrus, Peppermint, Rose, Tea-Tree, Almond, Eucalyptus, Green Tea and Baby Unscented. I’ve tried them all except the Almond and Green Tea, and I have to say they all smell amazing. This lavender one has a floral lavender scent that isn’t too strong, but also isn’t a dated scent. It smells fresh but floral too. It leaves a faint scent when used on the skin, but disappears after a while. It’s scented with Lavender Extract.
The texture is quite runny and not thick like shower gel or washing up liquid. It lathers and foams up quickly when used with water, and feels like soap on the skin. It leaves the skin feeling quite squeaky clean like soap does, but it doesn’t strip the skin at all. After using this product as a body wash my skin feels clean and fresh, but not irritated at all as it’s a natural product. I prefer to stick to using this product as a body wash, or other uses mentioned above, but I’ve heard a lot of people use this as a shampoo as well as a shower gel. A small amount of this product goes a really long way so it is really great value for money.
The packaging make this product really easy to use. It is very runny so it comes easily out of the lid, and you only need a tiny amount. The lid is secure so the product doesn’t leak, and it comes in many different bottle sizes. These include the largest 3.8L, to the smallest travel size 59ml and the other inbetween: 237ml, 473ml, and 946ml. Also, there is writing all around the bottle which gives the shower some reading material.
I love this product. It’s also vegan, cruelty free and fully natural.
